***BREAKING NEWS***

Ok folks, the decision has been made. QB13 will not be playing football during the 2010 season.

It took a lot of thinking, weighing options, wavering back and forth, soul searching, and reflection to come to this decision.

Two major factors played into my decision.
First of all, my knee. As much as I hate to admit it, it is nowhere near ready. I am still struggling to rebuild strength in my hamstrings and quad. Until I pass a strength test, my doctor will not release me to start cutting/planting. Doing so poorly on my first strength test really depressed me. I felt like I had busted my butt in the weightroom. I have another test scheduled for 3 weeks from today. I am going to be working hard until then so that I pass this time, even though I have already made my decision about football for 2010.

Secondly, the distance between where I live and the closest teams is just too much for my body to handle driving wise. Playing in Shreveport, an hour away, was not too bad at all last season. But adding another hour and a half to that drive to get to the Dallas area, is just too much. Plus, with that distance and the demands of my job in the Spring, I would not be able to commit enough time to practices during the week. I feel like I would be letting the team down.

I am okay with this decision, for now. I am hoping that in the future I am able to return to playing football. I fell in love with the game, even if I did only get to enjoy one half and did have to undergo major knee surgery because of it. I think it's just in my blood.

Keep working hard, no matter how hard it gets,
